This is soo weird. I've been hankering for a lot of food lately. when I say a lot, I mean A LOT.

For example, for the past 2 weeks i think I've had in me about 4 (BIGGG) bars of cadbury (n thinking of buying more).

Even hubster noticed my demands on meals are now, as he said, very demanding.

Blame it on PMS, sure. Because i'm quite sure nowadays my water intake are adequate, so no way i've mistaken thirst with hunger.

HOW DO I STOP THIS??

Favourite lip colours: nude rose/pinks. Prefers lipsticks rather than glosses. But currently only using lipbalm.

Currently hunting for: New blushes, eyeing the new Maybelline bounce blush, but i haven't seen them at their stands yet.

oh dear, compared to last routine, my performance sure dropped real low! time to buck up Anis, you're not getting any younger you know. 3 series coming right up!

My resolution to have a resolution

I noticed that I usually don't state any new year resolution every new year, except stating that I don't have a resolute resolution. Seperti appraisal, resolutions for me need a midyear review, so anything intangible can be dropped and new plans for the year can be incorporated. ecehh... tapi ye memang sangat pemalas maka tak pernah buat...

But now with a child in tow, I should have a plan for this year. Everything has gone haywire, trying to suit into new routines. And just when I've adapted, a NEWER routine needs to be incorporated. So this year I'm vowing to:

1. Be more organized. Really. I have to.

2. Take better care of my body. Since Mr. Attention Seeker came to town, I've been neglecting myself more than ever. Get up and move around Anis! AND don't forget your supplements! But first I have to do No.1 to achieve No.2.

There. I think that's 2 big stuff I critically need to sort out. And oh, No. 3:

To cook more.

Nowadays dapur berasap cuma untuk buat bubur/ bakar pisang for umar. Mama ayah ikut sempat je sebab sampai rumah pun dah dekat pukul 7.. kalau rajin masak la satu benda, kalau tak beli takeaways or order la saja kat Joe. Oh tak cerita kan, at my place kat clubhouse ada kedai makan yang buat delivery namanya Joe, maka dengan senang hati telefon saja ;) so no, less Joe's Anis.

And No.4, to be more green. We tried bringing our reusable bags everytime we go grocery shopping, tapi kadang-kadang tu terlupa jugak. So this year I hope we'll try to do that more (cue No.1, again!).

I've been clothdiapering Umar full time for the past few months since his stash has almost doubled (dropped from the bandwagon 2 times, totaling about 2 weeks during his bouts of sickness), so I vow to keep the heat up and clothdiaper him until he's potty-trained. Less waste to send out for disposal, and my Umar's butt has never looked cuter :) And no, our water bill is not much elevated while clothdiapering. Still below RM 10, which means in Selangor, still free :D

I myself has jumped into the wonderful world of clothpadding recently, so I hope I don't waste more money on disposable pads. No arguments whether it's icky or not because:

1. It's your own blood.

2. As with the disposables, as a Muslim we have to wash them pads clean before tossing into the garbage bin. So it's the same principle, just that we get to use them back.

And anyways cloth pads are soooooo pretty! Wait till i show u my (measly) stash. Cuteness! And because it's cloth, it is so comfy, you won't feel like you're wearing any!

Green Lantern - actually not bad, not bad at all. Walaupun concept dia agak kelakar kena pakai cincin n charge kat lampu gawd it sounds soooo ridiculous in malay hahahahaha .. Most probably sebab Ryan Reynolds hihihi hotttnesssss pppsssshhhh

Thor - Another superhero movie.. Ok jugak la walaupun concept dia pun kelakar power di tukul kahkahkah the Thor is not as hot as Ryan Reynolds tapi perut perrgghhh if you enjoy superhero movies like superman batman ironman i think Thor is quite enjoyable as well..

These two movies, walaupun telah diketahui kekelakaran dan tak masuk akal punya concept tapi yang tuuu jugak ditengok kalau agak2 bosan (selain cartoon movies for umar n how i met your mother for moi) ;)

Semenjak ada cikonet, tak pernah lagi p tengok wayang. We actually stopped earlier before, during my pregnancy lagi. I dunno why, but i guess being a fussybutt i couldn't tahan duduk kat shopping complex lama-lama. Kaki tak larat wei. Everything swelled early into the 5th month so mmg by the end of it I ended up waddling like a penguin.

This year ada banyyaaaakkk movies yang i missed out in the cinema. Hubster made up for it with HD movie downloads so tak la rugi sgt. All that was missing is the popcorn. hrmmm... should have bought that microwave so i can make my own kan..

X-Men First Class - hmm oookkk laa.. tak la seronok sgt for me. not exciting enough to warrant subsequent watch (i'm known to watch movies again ~~and again and again and again~~

Transformers Dark of the Moon - pun so-so.. takde rasa teringin nak tengok berkali-kali.. sebab takde megan fox? perhaps, walaupun dia cuma bimbo yang tak la pandai sangat berlakon.

Fast Five - punnnn tak menarik sangat.. eh aku tak suka banyak jugak movie tahun ni rupanya hahahaha.. i've watched number 4 much much much more times than number 5. eh number 5 tgk sekali je kut.

Kungfu Panda 2 - haaaa ni seronok :D and it's also Umar's favourite, apart from princess and the frog heheehe maybe he can correlate dgn baby po? perhaps, perhaps, perhaps ;P sebab baby po comel, macam umar hahahaha

Rio- This is my favourite for this year. B.E.S.T. best best best! love the movie, love the songs - Jamie Foxx punya suara mmg best, Party in Ipanema baby! n LOVE the collaboration with angry bird! at least lawa la, dari tgk babi-babi tergolek-golek kan..

Hangover Part 2 - I've said it before, I'll say it again. GROSS, GROSS, GROSS. tapi kelakar. tapi GROSS. Bradley Cooper hottttttt!!

Cars 2 - my son didn't seem to like it, and so did I. i guess we have similar taste ;)

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 on Stranger Tides - I don't know why but the movie seemed a little off. Not because there's no love story, no Orlando Bloom. no no no! Johnny Depp tetap chenta hatiku. tapiiiiiii MAKE UP yang off.. OFF GILA.. haih.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - hmmm... i'm on the fence on this one. nak kata best sgt pun tak, tak best pun tak. some parts adalah sedikit kecewa, tapi some parts adalah sedikit teruja. see?

There's two more movies that i haven't watched - Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 and The Smurfs. Kena carik yang at least 720p baru cantikkkkkkk

A Review on Rumparooz

i received these lovelies from my beloved sspians who threw babyshower for me and aishah cum ifi's housewarming (another excuse for makan fest and gossip session!). there is another one in sunshine - bright bright orange (couldn't take the picture as it was in laundry). it was love at first sight.

the colours are the most vibrant i've ever seen! u won't see any boring pastel colours from rumparooz. love love love :)

the rumparooz i have here is the new G2 pocket diaper. each diaper comes together with a set of inserts - a small 2 layer microfibre newborn insert which can later be used as boosters, and a 3 layer microfibre inserts which has adjustable snaps.

here's a look on the inside of the diaper. it's made from soft soft stay dry microchamois. the winning feature for this diaper must be the poopscoop, the inner gusset that keeps EVERYTHING in.

umar could fit in this diaper since about 2weeks, using the provided newborn insert as the soaker. trim dan cantik. n true to its claim, the poopscoop never let anything out. another thing that i love is the laundry tab for velcro closure. its made of cloth (barely noticeable in the picture) so it's very soft and won't graze my baby's skin.

the sad thing is, now at 5 months umar is already set on L setting. why? while the crotch is narrow, providing good fit so the baby won't look terkangkang much even as newborn, the thigh casing is trim too, which is bad news for my chikenet's drumsticks.

overall view: thumbs up for trimness and vibrant colours. i wish i could say the same about the fit on my chunkybaby, but sadly, no :(

dah lama tak review makeup kan? i recently found a long-lost love, hence this post :D

presenting, Eyeko Fat Balm!!!!

i bought this just b4 i found out i was pregnant (which has since led to a looooooooong pause on any cosmetics purchase, until recently ;)) n loved it to bits! its actually a lip balm, n a fat one at that (hence the name) but it's also tagged to be used as cream blush. n i AM a sucker for multipurpose cosmetics, so i must of course have it. i have one in strawberry, will post real pic when i have the chance.

the thing i love most is while its moisturising as a balm, and the tint is suitable for my complexion, it being a cream blush is not sticky much. just pat pat pat on the cheeks, blend blend blend blend, then pat pat pat on the lips, smack once, twice, then ur already done! it's effortless to do my face nowadays, which is crucial since other times are spent playing with umar ;)

the not so good news part is that when i head to its website, www.eyeko.com, i realized it's no longer there! upon further investigation i noticed that the brand has rebranded itself and has since focused on the eyes only, which i think is a little nonsensible. i mean, have u ever heard of a cosmetic brand that focused on only one area of the face? ~~don't give me empro please hahhaha i know there are brands like that!~~

more googling, n i found out that some online shops still carry this gem, but yeah, they don't ship to malaysia. kalau rajin ada je personal shoppers at lowyat.net yg take orders to buy for you, which is how i get my eyeko in the first place :)

A FLIP REVIEW

Another AI2 system that umar currently use is Flip. It's a basic one-size waterproof PUL diaper cover with lay-on insert. There is an option of snap or velcro closure, and staydry or organic cotton insert. The staydry insert is comprised of 3 layers of microfibre topped with stay-dry suede. the Flip system caters for babies from 7-35lbs.

I first bought a day pack of Flip which consisted of 2 diaper covers (moonbeam and butternut, both in snap closure) with 6 stay dry inserts. i've since bought more staydry inserts, and another cover in clementine (above) with velcro closure.

Umar started to fit into Flip as he was about 4 weeks old, roughly 3.5kg. And since then, up til now, Flip has become a staple for him. i even use them on umar for night diapering, added with microfibre or hemp booster.

As with Thirsties diaper covers, Flip covers are also made of breathable PUL, which enables it to be wiped clean if there's no stains and airdried before alternate use. The cutting of Flip is generous, which is thumbs-up for chunky monkeys. It has flaps on both sides to put in the insert's ends so it stays put. Umar was at the smallest setting and just upgraded to M setting at 7kg. no red marks on umar's thighs at all on this system, yeay!

the only minor thing that i (ehem!) disliked about Flip cover is the laundry tab for the velcro closure. since its laundry tab is velcro strip sewn onto the back of the cover, it touches umar's back, and mama doesn't like the feel of it. so my solution to it was to lay the insert onto the laundry tab instead of underneath the flap, so its contact to umar's skin is minimised :)

i love, LOVE Flip staydry inserts as it is very thirsty, hold umar's pee about three hours without leaks, and easy to clean. The staydry insert is also convenient to use as it has marks sewn onto it to show small, medium and large setting. I can just fold the insert according to the marks and it fits well into the cover. nowadays i use the inserts not just into Flip covers, but also into other diaper covers as well.

overall view: 4 thumbs up! more than a third of umar's stash is made of Flip, which goes to show how much i love them :)

recipe gone ermmmm... not quite right..

last night was my first try to make carbonara pasta. sangat senang sebenarnya, but i still manage to get it wrong. kena repair2 baru ok sikit rasa dia.

sorry no pictures, sebab rupa sangat kesian putiiiiihhhh je.

pasta carbonara

pasta of your choice (takde spaghetti masa nak beli maka bantai beli vermicelli pasta)

carbonara sauce:

1 cup cream (substituted with evaporated milk)

2 whole eggs

1 cup grated parmesan cheese (takde kat rumah so i used 4 slices cheddar cheese)

1/2 cup hot water

pinch of salt

this recipe calls for crispy fried bacon, but i just used leftover cold cuts of roast beef and chicken pastrami. u can also use turkey ham and slices of button mushroom.

to do:

1.boil pasta according to package instruction.

2.cut the cold cuts into bite-sized pieces. fry as u like, i just fry plain je.

3.combine all carbonara sauce ingredient. if u like it thick u can omit the hot water and salt, the cheese is already salty enough. mix with fork/beater, and simmer on slow fire. season with pepper and mixed herb (kalau ada chilli flakes lagi sedappp).

4. add in fried cuts and sliced mushrooms into sauce.

5. mix pasta into sauce, garnish, and you're done!

Thirsties: A Review

Really. i really can't emphasize enough how much i depend on these covers during confinement. In fact, the Thirsties covers were used on umar since he was born until yesterday (umar hit 7kgs. size 1 Thirsties covers 6-18lbs which means it should fit umar till about 8kgs, but his thunder thighs said differently :( )

first off, a little about the brand.

Thirsties is a USA made diaper brand, the most famous products being their range of diaper covers. There is also fitted diapers, sleeve diapers (kinda like pocket but with both ends open so the insert agitate itself out during washing) and more.

The Thirsties came either in aplix or snap closure, in sizes (XS, S, M and L) or 2-size system:

Size 1 which fits 6-18lbs (3-8kg), and
Size 2 which fits 18-40lbs (8-18kg)

Here are the ones that i used on Umar:

from left: aplix cover in Blackbird, snap cover in orchid, snap cover in storm cloud, and duo insert, all in size 1.

All three covers are the Duowrap Size 1 (i couldn't find the XS cover). the covers are made of breatheable waterproof polyurethane laminate (PUL) and wipeable, so if there's no poo stain, u can just wipe it clean and airdry for alternate use. These fit Umar since he's born (2.5kg) till 7kg at 5 months.

The DuoInsert is made of two parts: 2 layer microfibre topped with stay-dry microfleece, and a bottom part made of 5 layer jersey-hemp. these two parts are connected with snaps, so u can unstick them and they dry faster after washing.

my take after using the system for 4 months?

on the duowrap:

easy to use, the wipeable feature made it a breeze. u can just lay on any type of soaker (but NOT microfibre insert!) on it, snap your baby in, and voila, all done. until umar outgrew his duowrap, i love to pair it with FLIP staydry insert (review coming up later). in terms of using aplix or snap closure though, i must say that it's a personal preference. and i prefer the snap ones, since the aplix easily folded under umar's belly and cause leaks.

on the insert:

although hemp is reputed to hold a LOT of liquid, sadly it didn't work out much for umar, even when he's about a month old. these days i separate the two parts and they are excellent as boosters for umar's night time diapering.

Clothdiapering A Newborn

When i first got pregnant, mak advocated on using the traditional lampin masa berpantang, and at least masa cuti bersalin to cut the cost of using disposable diapers. i was a little apprehensive, knowing how pemalas i am and kesian mak nak jaga kitorg masa pantang tu. but i was little curious when i came upon the term cloth diaper at babycenter community forum.

more and more i read, regarding the whole myriad of CD systems available. it was overwhelming, at first, especially the jargons used. AIO, AI2, pocket. what's the difference between insert AND soaker???? what's the difference of fabrics used to make these cute stuff? THERE'S ACTUALLY FABRIC MADE OF BAMBOO???

to name a few.

on and on i read, and did a lot of research to avoid disappointment (and waste of money). at first, the thought of using one size cloth diaper was very tempting. but the more i read, the more i came upon mothers who failed to use the one-sized ones since newborn, mainly because after all, newborns are very small, and the cutting of onesize CD just don't cut it.

at 26weeks i finally decided that i would use lampin and small sized diaper cover during confinement, and when my baby finally fit, the one-size CD would be economical.

during confinement, i used lampin, folded macam kapalterbang tu (the proper term is origami fold), lapik dengan liner, with thirsties cover XS or duowrap size 1. tak payah pakai pin/snappi pun (buat rugi beli je), sbb lampin tu tak bergerak pun dlm cover. umar was snug and happy in them. memang kena banyak kali tukar, sebab umar is a poopertrooper, and lampin cepat basah so baby kurang selesa. on the other hand, we experienced zero diaper rash episode. yeay!

malam still pakai huggies though, sebab tak confident dapat bagi umar pakai lampin dgn selesa malam2.

i also used thirsties duo insert, but since Bonnie (of mycheekyboo.com) ada 2 keping je size 1, tu je la rezeki umar. but more on that later :D

First post on Umar's CDing journey

I did say I wanted to post on umar’s adventure in cloth diapering kan.. eheh, my bad.

Umar start pakai lampin biasa+diaper cover around his 4^th day, I think. Nak bagi pakai CD yang one-size still too big untuk umar, dah dia kecik comel je 2.5kg, and one-sized ones usually tagged for 8-35lb (±3-15kg). I bought a few diaper covers that are suitable for 6-18lbs, so the fit lebih cantik.

After much MUCH reading and researching and browsing through online sellers to find the best deal (for I am an avid bargain-hunter), here are the list of diapers that I’ve already bought before delivering umar:

3 Thirsties Duowrap cover in size 1

3 dozen flats/ lampin

2 Thirsties duo Insert in Size 1

last night was a date night. umar dah balik bermanja dgn maktok awal2 lg kat kedah last weekend. i'll be heading back to kedah for raya haji so then only i'll be picking him up. but for now, it's back to being 2.

watched hangover 2 last night. super hilarius, but also superrrrrrr gross. i mean it. G.R.O.S.S. a little review, this time round it's stu's bachelor party gone AWWWFUULLYYY wrong. think thailand, thugs, transgender (gawd it looked like a lab experiment gone wrong!). enuf said.

Current Routine

Today is Day 30. Yeay Umar dah sebulan!

Unfortunately, it also means 30days of no TV. haih. nak buat cne, TV kat tingkat atas, dlm bilik takde TV. not that mak doesn't allow me to go up the stairs but i didn't trust myself holding umar going up the slippery stairs. Yet. Who knows? maybe tomorrow i will.

u guys know how vain i am right? right? righttt... well now everything goes out the window. n sleeping with the aircon blowing direct ke muka doesn't exactly help. At all. Even my sister, when she wrongly bought a cleanser for oil control for me and i said well this won't help at all now i'm quite dry, went 'ooh yaaa... i can see the dry patches...'

Sedih.

My current beauty routine:

hair tied in high bun to stretch whatever feature that is sagging, nothing done on unconcealable panda eyes.

Clinique Mild Cleanser on face.

Lucas Papaw ointment on dry lips (n dry, cracked nips).

DONE.

2x sedih.

I need face (and body!!) overhaul, STAT.

A reminder for myself, for the next round :)

Things to do before getting admitted for delivery:

1. pack baby and mommy's stuff, yes, but don't forget daddy's stuff too. at least a change of clothes, kain pelikat, kopiah, and extra pillow and blanket for him and family members who will be waiting for you. like you, he'll have sleepless nights too in the ward, but minus a bed.

2. wash yourself, especially your hair, thoroughly, you won't know when you'll be wheeled into the labour room, and when you get to wash it again. and please, don't forget to trim your nails (like i did before delivering umar).

3. have the phone and camera ready, unless u have a doting father-in-law (like mine, loves!) who took videos and lots of pictures from the time you're wheeled out of the labour room, pictures of the star of the day in the nursery, till you're both checked out and getting in the car to go home.

4. please have something at hand to while the time away, especially if u don't have tv in the room. i had to wait a day and a half before my bundle came out after being induced. thank goodness for ebooks and smartphones!

5. have hubby to get some food supply, fruits and drink packs at least, for family members who's waiting for you. they'll fend for themselves, yes, but it'll make u feel much better.

Day 15

Today marks 15 days of life of our little darling. kejap je dah 2 minggu... n it has been such a roller coaster ride of adapting to new routines. diaper changing, poo-sniffing, feeding is especially a challenge since the boss is VERY keen on sleeping. but Alhamdulillah umar is not a screamer, cuma sekali-sekala bila mama lambat sangat bagi attention, n bila mandi terlentang. otherwise he is such a good boy, and he always smiles, which made all the night waking hours worth it.

He did have to come out early due to some circumstance, and the labour room had a little drama having him to get out, but Alhamdulillah we managed to get through normal delivery safely. the moment he opened up his eyes and smiled at me (before he managed to let out a loud cry), i know we're gonna be alright.

currently we're stationed at mak's, with doting aunties and uncles. cucu sulung, nak buat cne. jadi la bahan. tengah 'buat kuih' pun ada video.. kesian umar, cam reality tv show dah. takpe, at least we'll have things to remind us of little him when he's all grown up, and also all those potential embarassing shots to show his wifey haha

the most lingering question for a new momma, will i be a good mother? i've tried reading a LOT, but i know no theory can prepare me completely until i experience it myself. harap2 dapat jadi mama yg baik, aminnn.. or as hariz said, nnti kalau mama menyinga jadi raksasa gorgon, baby boleh jadi otromen... :D

will i be able to finish preparing for the material stuff before delivering? i do have a lot to pack, see. This is not even about hospital bags. ARGGHHH!

Baby stuff, easy, i'll just lug EVERYTHING into bag #1-beg bb balik pantang di SgPetani + raya di K.Trganu. Senang, sebab semua barang baru kan. Its the parents' stuff that's worrisome.

Thing is, if everything is according to my EDD, there'll be only a few days left to puasa after pantang and then raya. N we'll be heading east straight from north, so i'm not in the liberty to get back to our place before heading east, hence the freaking out having to pack for raya in REJAB.

Baju raya? hariz punya tak beli lagi? sendiri punya?(sendiri punya tu MUAT KE???)
Baju2 spare utk kenduri2 & open house?? yg sedia ada tak tentu muat!!
Songkok, tudung, butang baju melayu, sampin jgn lupa!
anak2 sutun, baju pegi dapur, baju jalan2 tepi pantai, baju tido????

all this, on top of risau sakit bersalin, risau baby hari2 kira movement, risau baby lahir normal/tak, risau mama's hospital bag tak siap lagi(???!!!), risau all the stiff joints i felt if i dont move during my sleep (hidung merah+kembang, kaki bengkak, dan jari macam sosej tu takyah cerita la).. haih..

Ground Beef Shepherd Pie

i really need to jot this somewhere, n pity i didnt take any pic on the dish before being eaten. it always feels good to cook it right the first time, n nobody gets stomachache from it!

what i initially googled was some recipes on mashed potato gravy, but ended up with a simple baked mashed potato with ground beef. bila google lagi dan lagi, baru la dapat nama yang betul:

GROUND BEEF SHEPHERD PIE.

ada la rupa skt mcm gambar sebenar, tapi bukan. googled.

you'll need:

mashed potatoes

7 medium size russet potatoes (roughly almost 1kg) - skinned and quartered
4 cloves garlic
1 cup cream
1 heaping tbsp butter (missed this one!)
sprinkle of mixed italian herbs
salt, as needed

ground beef base

500g beef, minced
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
coarse ground black pepper and salt to taste

some grated cheese and breadcrumbs for topping.

to do:

1. preheat oven at 150C. Boil the potatoes together with garlic (or can roast the garlic with some oil instead) and mash together with cream, butter, salt and herb. set aside.

2. Saute chopped onion and garlic until fragrant, then mix in ground beef. Simmer on low fire til they turn brownish. Season with salt and black pepper. Transfer beef into casserole, spread around the base.

3. Top with mashed potatoes, and sprinkle breadcrumbs and grated cheese.

4. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the cheese tips turned brown.

Siap! Baked this for the potluck cum housewarming cum baby shower, and since ada byk budak2, this dish ialah yg paling senang makan, mashers for tots, beef for mums ~~and dads too~~ :D

hoho this is the looooongggggeeeesssst stretch of absence from this page for me heh. lama gila tak tulis, rasa sgt rusty. no excuses , i know, but yeah, like some ppl like to say ~~that annoys the heck out of me~~ , whatever...

n whaddaya know, i've arrived at the last laps y'all! just 8 wks left til we can finally get to see our lil' one. ok ok, so we do get to peep at whatever the baby's doing every month ~~n sometimes in the middle of the night i'm awakened by the baby's movement, smiling in the dark and secretly wishing i can keep feeling it in my tums~~, but everyone is very hyped up n anxious for the grand arrival. n me, being super-paranoid, am obsessing on every false/true labour signs i came across in articles / pregnancy tracker apps. not to mention the almost daily Braxton Hicks. dr kata anak panjang, maka agak kurang space agaknya, tu yg asyik mengeliat selalu, perut pun asyik kerassss je. the last time we saw the bean he's had his tali pusat near his face, his hands near his face, AND one leg up his face. kesian anak mama. sempit ye sayang? tak lama lagi dah nak kuar pusing la sesuka hati ye.

i just had the baby stuff for hospital bag packed up. baby bag is one cutesy bakul rotan courtesy from my MIL, yeay! comel gila, but i'm thinking of a way to line the basket so kain baju semua tak tersangkut. now just lapik dgn tudung yg tak penah (n tak boleh sbb susah gilaaaa nk bentuk)pakai. mama bag tak siap lagi, kemudian la ye.

checklist for baby bag:

baju: 3 pairs button tshirts n pants, 2 rompers

booties and mitts 1 pair, 3 pairs NB socks

3 receiving blankets, 1 pc muslin swaddle

4pc lampin

1 towel

4 barut baby

1 pk baby wipes

being me, who likes to reaaadd anything and everything, am planning to jump on the CD(clothdiaper) bandwagon, which is a hot topic online nowadays. this, with full support from my mak who's gonna take care of me n baby masa pantang nanti. but still i'll be using dispos during the first few days on my mom's advice, at least until the baby poo is no more tarry like, or meconium as they call it. mainly because the tarry meconium mak kata susah skt nk tanggal unless pakai liner, n we had the huggies dispos for free anyway so we might as well use it first.

will be posting on inputs regarding clothdiapering later, toodles!

a death news took me by surprise today. the more harrowing part was she died due to the negligence of her baby sitter.

Deanna was only four months old.

seems like only a few days before i met the little girl, a little nervous to hold her - the old adage said that if ur holding a baby n he/she doesn't cry, it means the opposite gender is in your belly. not that i totally believed that since i hold both a niece and a nephew and they didnt cry, but that's another story.

she happily chatted away in her own language, talking to my yet-to-be-seen belly. a sure signal that she's sleepy, her mummy said. how adorable it is for an infant to babble to say she's sleepy, no? Deanna.

it really hurt to think about it as i am in emotional limbo these days, but its my dear cousin's only child. n my heart aches for her loss.

sleep well sweetheart. my love goes to u. Al-Fatihah.

speaking about mideastern cuisine and tarbush restaurant, the one thing i adore most is not the meals, but the beautiful mosaic tables. MashaAllah memang laaaa sangat menarik ~~sampai ada hati siap menggoogle macammana nak buat mosaic art sendiri, heh~~. berangan okk. iyelah kalau nak beli tu side table kecik pun mau parah jugak poket.

we went for a quick arabstyle dinner at a new shop in the strand. its nearby butik najjah if anyone's familiar with that farah diba of tv9's boutique.

no pictures as we were a hungry lot, but its quite decent. n we don't have to go to jalan damai for our mid-eastern fix anymore, yeay! oh ya tarbush still ok, tp kedai ni of course nearer to our home :D

the spread is not much as yet, but we're hoping the shop will add more menu. the lamb mendi that we tried was not bad, the nasik a little biasa but the lamb was sangggaaatttt sedapppp!!! the meat literally jus melt in your mouth and very very juicy. it has three sizes, small (apparently for 1 person), regular and large. we ordered the regular portion for sharing, and boy were we stuffed like some christmas turkey! that, even after taking into account that hariz is a big-portion eater. sangat banyak, so i figured if its only girls with small stomach, regular portion can feed 3!

the only cheesy thing about the shop is not the meals, but the name. KEDAI NASI ARAB. in your face ok! kalau tak paham tu tak tau la.

i am hankering for much meat these days, next time pegi i'll take some pix okies. later!

when i first saw this i was already tempted to make a post of my own.

then i saw this, n itched even more.

now that i saw this one in farina's i couldn't wait anymore.

so here's my version of WHAT'S IN MY MAKEUP BAG.

i shouldnt have labeled 1 on the pouch. my bad, hehehe

1. yep, a pouch. a free one when i bought a cute kit from clinique, the hydration range.

2. a spray bottle containing decanted Clinique Clarifying Toner 2. Stingy, i know, but have u seen the mouth of the bottle? its H.U.G.E. it is one of the most useful tips i found in the beauty blogs' world, i can give more miles on it if i do this.

3. Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil. Nicked this from my sis (u can actually say its a barter since she nicked something else from me at the same time :D) These days i use it to revive my chapped lips.

4. RENU multipurpose solution. always on standby during those loooooong days, or during short trips to our hometown.

5. Cetaphil cleanser. this was given by hubbsy, a sample obviously gotten while salesrep promoting it in the hospital, meant for dermatology use. a gem, truly, i can get rid of my eye makeup with me eyes closed (literally)!

6. Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser. Gotten this when i bought the hydration range. Am not keen to revisit this one. trust me when i say my Clinique Gentle Cleanser (mild) does better job removing my makeup then this - when this one is the one tagged to do so. so having it in the pouch means i wont let it go to waste and just use it for normal cleansing.

7. Clinique All about Eyes Rich. for days when i feel like it.

8. Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Relief. What a relief for parched skin after a day in fullblast aircon room.

9. Empty contact lense case. just in case.

10. Paul & Joe eyecolour powder. its a pretty beige colour with a brown-coloured four-leaves clover, gotten from reena. . again, for those days when i feel like it.

11. Stila CC in peony. i can't emphasize again and again how much i like the colour on my cheeks, n its hole in the pan is getting bigger!

12. Guardian's travel-sized cotton squares. i know, enough obsession with travel-sized items already!

13. Benefit full finish lipstick in Lady's Choice. truly my favourite nude. when i'm in the mood for shimmers, i'd layer it with Stila lipglaze or Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Sugar Cookie.

14. JLo Blue Glow edt. a free sample for those busuk with cafe's smell days. it smells great!

15. Bobbi Brown hydrating cream. a sample nicked while i bought some stuff for my MIL. very nonsticky n yet very hydrating. i like! what i dont like though, is the price tag for a full-sized one :(

that's it, the full content of my pouch. u can see how much i'm a sucker for travel-sized products, so much so that i actually have extras for those already in the pouch! n lets not delve into what else travel-sized inside my handbag (hmmm.. now that i think about it i might actually do that! haha)

introducing... adding up to my cheek collection:

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose and Nectar!

they're such beauties, right? when i saw them on sale (unboxed) for usd16 each i just clicked clicked clicked, then lo and behold, a parcel is on its way to mama! i mean hey, the price is actually about double at the counters and i wont do much with boxes anyway.

these shimmer bricks are meant as highlights, but u can actually use individual colours as eyeshadows, or give a light-handed overall swipe for highlighting. But for me, i cant use them nectar as highlights as its quite pigmented. so instead, i use it as a blush (as i meant to do when i purchase it ;)) it is packed with shimmers though (what am i thinking, it IS called SHIMMER brick isn't it?) so i have to be careful and use a very light hand on it.

rose on the other hand is very nice for overall face brightener or highlighter on my apples since it won't show much as a blush.. somewhat like Benefit Moon Beam in a powder form i think, the similarity is there.

individual swatches for nectar. i won't put them on my eyelids though ;D

i've been using them for a few weeks now. while i'm still getting a grip on using rose (very fair, cool-toned beauty bloggers swear this can be used as blush), nectar is absolute breeze with me! *fondling black case for the nth time*

2. i dont actually feel comfortable writing on internet space for quite some time. anyone who sees my facebook would know i've been silent for quite some time, only likes here and there on the pages i've been. dunno why but the whole terlebih cakap, n keeping what should be between you and your spouse is not meant for the whole world to see is has gotten to me.

still masuk ofis hari ni. gigih ok. well bukan sure sure la bukan sebab gigih kan, dah selalu canang aku ni pemalas. anyways i'll be taking the whole of next week off, so, BOOOYAA!

tema tahun ni: PINK. lagi. hariz dah pakai pink last year, tp sebab dia tanak beli baru so pakai yang lama saja. ada dua baju melayu yg pink, but the one he'll be wearing is a peach-toned pink so no, its not too harsh for my darker-than-me abang sayang. aku je la baju baru nye :D

we'll be back on raya eve. tu maknanya malam ni atau malam esok. my PIL will be at our place while we balik sp. awkward? u bet. tapi nak buat macammane, sebab both my BIL and hubby tak balik trganu la my PIL raya sini. so, i can safely say this phenomena will happen every other raya.

kuih dah abis sebalang kat rumah. tapi takpa, makan dua org. eheh. hariz mkn lagi byk dari aku. aku tgh pk dodol kat tepi sungai stesen teksi sungai petani niiiiihhh... ahhh lazat, tapi mesti la takde time aku balik. aaaaarrrgggghhh!!!

aduh... kesian la blog aku ni jadi tempat simpan habuk. fuh fuhhhhhh.. *please pardon the waterspray*

my ramadhan this year is quite good, alhamdulillah. berjaya bangun sahur tiap2 pagi! yeay! (touchwood) harap2 sampai hujung ramadan i'll still keep up. kalau tak mmg mashaAllah susah susah SUSAAAHHH mau bangun sahur, minum milo pun tutup mata. skrg sudah improve, walaupun juz with cereal / milk / bread / weetameal / milo with supplements and loads and loads of plain water :D

iftar pun menarik. yg klakar nya i'm not very tempted with all the stuff at the bazaar. but i'm not a lavish spender kat bazaar ramadhan anyway, cukup dengan 1+1 main for me and him, 1 jenis kuih / light side dish and air kalau agak2 kena berbuka dlm keta. this year smpat balik rumah b4 azan, so beli lauk half, another half masak je, dgn nasik. ~~sudahla cne nak kecik hari2 makan nasik...~~

all weekends for ramadhan scheduled for travel / reunion etc. last weekend sudah balik sp, berpening bersama2 abah cari lampu kipas curtain segala. abah sgt ambitious, lps pasang lampu dah nak naik rumah baru. tapi serious tak habis2 beli lampu, i have no idea that a house can pack so much lamps!

i've been hankering for the third Stila Girl Travel palettes, gila punya stalk website hari2 tgk tak keluar2 lagi. brapa haribulan dah ni???? (mesti esok kuar, last month kuar 20hb)
just so you know, the first two look like these:while i'm at it, terasa mcm nak jugak yg ni:

Favourite lip colours: nude rose/pinks. Prefers lipsticks rather than glosses.

sori ye. kesian blog ni kurang kasih sayang muah muah muah.

a few things:

1. trip to bandung telah berjaya. happy sangat ~~dapat kirai duit~~ dgn jayanya. not so much of sightseeing, loads and loads of shopping. but since its a family trip, 160kgs of luggage limit saved the day ;)

2. shuhada dah nak sampai dari egypt malam ni, yeay!

3. baru dapat tgk solomon kane and book of eli. verdict for both: SO-SO.

4. the shopping bug didnt leave even after bandung. heck when did it ever leave haha. shopped online and offline for more tudung, cosmetics and shoes. my current wishlist:

its a limited edition Stila Girl Travel Palettes! stilacosmetics.com is launching 1 new palette each month til december, and the best part is, its only USD10!!! unfortunately the online shop doesnt ship to malaysia, unlike benefitcosmetics.com. SEDIHHHHHHHHHHH

5. a colleague who juz had his 2nd kid, and another very pregnant colleague reminded me that, after kids, you'd want to spend more for them and wouldnt care much for yourself. with that being said, my parcels akan sampai next week, yeay!!!!

6. rasa dah lama tak balik sp, walaupun my colleagues noted that i balik kampung a lot. almost every month ada balik kampung trip, be it hariz's or mine. next weekend balik sp with my sista yo! durian fest!!

i'm not the kind that once i wear it i'll never take it off. noooo i just HAVE TO take it off everytime i wash my hands, take ablutions, shower, sleep, its amazing how i didnt lost it all my three years that i had it.

until it happened. today. we were at my BIL's when i took it off n hung it into my un'clasp'able watch, as usual. but i didnt keep it in a bag or anything, instead i juz put it on the carpet (???!!!).

masa nak balik tu laaaa cari tak jumpa. abis satu rumah kena punggah tak jumpa. balik meleleh2 airmata. tapi senyap2 je sebab nnti mesti kena bebel. tapi sayang ok. mana tak risau. that was my engagement ring, n i love love love my fossil.

oh dear, its been sooooo long.

lately i'm not feeling any inclination to write anything here. but on a few stuff:

1. did watch iron man 2 eons ago. BESSSTTTT!! dan all the downloaded ones berlambak2jugak. tgh tunggu shutter island nih :)

2. OUR THIRD ANNIVERSARY!!!!! juz had dinner at TGIF since we had to work that day. had a pleasant wake up call come midnight, but i'm not telling ;D

3. weekends are fully booked starting this week till end of june for weddings. every week orang kawin wei, n those are ones that if they'r not close to me, close to hariz. or else close to both of us. mana mau lari??

4. mak pesan to ease off the dinners. bila dah pesan tu pulak rasa susah ya Rabbi. what with those kenduris all lined up. dah la bulan 4 n 5 ni penuh dgn aqiqah invites. kat fridays tak la makan sampai tersadai, tapiiiii appetizer, my main and his main semua cheeeeezzzyyy. the kinds that go straight to my hips and butt. adoooiiii... pastu esok nya makan kat big brother's pulak???!!

5. kena bersiap sedia. mlm ni ada wedding! now where's my girdle....

i admit, i have a very sweet tooth, n i love love love desserts!! be it traditional malay ones or fusion / western ones, i love them all. i recently picked a habit to make bubur yg manis2 for lunch, instead of making it for evening tea. blame it on my mum, yg selalu masak tak berenti2. org baru je abis kemas meja lepas lunch dia dah sibuk buat kuih la, goreng cucur la, bubur la segala makneka dia buat kat dapur.

but oh ya, hariz pun layan je aku masak time pelik2. breakfast lewat -brunch la konon, bihun goreng ka hapa, pastu pukul 2 mkn bubur manis. pukul 5-6 kuar makan :)

1/2 kotak santan kara

daun pandan optional

rebus kacang sampai kembang atas api slow. jaga jgn sampai hangus ok. air jgn banyak sgt, agak2 1/2 inch above kacang tu je.

dah kembang betul baru tambah air, sagu, gula n santan. biar reneh atas api sloooww. letak garam. siap!

baru ni makan bubur jagung spiked with pulut, sedap gilaa! it didnt help that i had that at 10.30pm. bukan aku masak ok! my BIL's in-laws buat tahlil, bukak restaurant, maka makan sedap2 la malam2. dgn nasik, dgn bubur yg ada pulut, haizzzz... bila la nak menyelim...

tok meninggal last monday. honestly i can say i'm glad her suffering is finally over. she's been unable to recognize any of us, wasnt able to speak, and was immobile since last year. luckily i was able to see her alive when i last went back in april. teringat dulu everytime i spoke to her, i'd always hug her close, more to speak close to her ears than anything else, sebab dia tak berapa dengar.now, i'm glad i did. n she always has something for me everytime i came by, because i'm the only cucu yg kecik2 dah dok jauh kat asrama di kl (most of my cousins are northbound). sleep well, tok. alFatihah.

now i cant talk about anything else. everything else just clogged in my throat. u guys take care, n dont forget to hug ur loved ones.

i always dread going to work after days of cuti. well who doesnt? right after my very short balik kampung stint i had to go for a three day course, just to find papers on my desk piling up come friday. gila banyakkkkkkkk....

baru baca lightning thief (kali ke berapa tah). i never said anything about it here right? well i read the book first, n watch the movie a few days after that.

the book, is very good i might say. while it is targeted towards teenagers, i find some new words i never thought of looking up into the dictionary. new word for today:

kleptomaniac: a person who is not able to control the urge to collect / steal things.

i love new words.

u know, all my life i never feel compelled to love what i'm doing right now. come secondary school, all i thought of doing when i grow up was picking up TESL and teach english, although i know i certainly wasnt the best in my class. it came easily enough for me, n i never forgot about it. but i know, i'll make a lousy, and a very garang teacher. so i might as well just drop it and carry on.

anybody want to open a franchise pharmacy n hire me?

the movie, everybody was saying it sucks. but i think its not THAT bad. well it is diverted from a lot of things in the book, which is much more interesting. but if u enjoy it as it is, its quite ok. but there's a finality to it, like there's not gonna be a sequel. somehow.

havent bought the rest of percy jackson series, since the last book takde in mphonline the last time i check. ingat nak beli sekaligus je, u can better discounts if u buy from the website.

later, nak siap makan char kuey tiaw. i know i know, dah pukul berapa nih? baru 8.15pm ok. but i'm not quite used to eating later than 8 most of the days. now, dont ask me why i practise all that but none of the flabs recede. just to keep it from bulging i have to do that! darn the stick thin girls who eat all they want.

hmm where do i start..

1. went back to my hometown for 4 days and overdosed on durian everyday. which meant, extra, EXTRA hot days since sg petani is a lot hotter than kota damansara. n doesnt rain too.

2. totally ditched my makeups (and skincare on some days, come to think of it) and went au naturel. n hey, i didnt have any breakout for that 4 days (which is uncommon due to my has-a-brain-of-its-own hormone nowadays) so hurray for that!

3. watched a few movies: princess n the frog, tooth fairy and imaginarium of dr parnassus. movie 1 is ok if u like musicals, and happy endings. which i totally dig. :D movie 2 is so-so. not bad but its already a few children movies that dwayne johnson starred in. so.. its starting to get a little boring. movie 3: a very far-fetched imagination. sgt sgt pelik. but that way it glues u to ur seats, or carpets, wherever u might be sitting.

4. oh, still cuti today so i can get my housechores sorted. sorta. i'm taking a break from ironing while on house season 5 rerun, n hariz is out at the barber's. too bad i dont have any experience cutting the boys' hair (they just took turns trimming their hair with the trimming machine-four boys and an ex-army for a father-n that is before they discovered some barbers can make their hair look like christiano ronaldo's). kalau tak, i'll definitely experiment on his hair too.

5. n oh yeah, my mom beat me to cutting fatin's hair. garn! that's twice already!

my take on war movies

this was supposed to be last week's entry, as this week i had nothing but boring, same old routine, albeit being more kelamkabut than ever in the office.

totally ditched alice and solomon kane, gone to watch greenzone instead. this movie is in the same league with the hurt locker, academy awards winner for best picture and a few other categories. now, hurt locker, i honestly dunno why it got the best picture. hahaha. its actually a story of a day-to-day routine of a bomb defusing squad in Iraq, like everyday a different story, so there's not juz one story in it. no climax either. n its very, VERY disturbing. there's one scene about a boy's body being made into a body bomb, meaning a corpse being stuffed with bombS and self detonate upon activation. i couldnt forget it. EVER.

but if u like the suspense and the anticipation of whether they live or die in each of their missions, this is for you.

i, on the other hand had to watch it since it was at my BIL's house and the boys were watching it.

duh.

greenzone wasnt what i expected. coming from jason bourne's director, we came to expect something along the same line. the message is clear:

a lie told can be very devastating.

in this case it tore up a whole nation- Iraq, and its only due to one simple lie.

i was wondering if ever this movie tak kena gonyoh dgn american govt, sbb dia terang2 tunjuk depa sendiri penipu besaq. but well, they showed the president was bush, not obama so i guess it didnt hurt him.

it is engaging while it lasted, but enough la war movies for me. i dont want to watch any more this year. its too disturbing, what's with the shreds of human flesh flying everywhere every minute.

this movie finally cemented my opinion about war-type movies - they're not MY type.

on a few things:

1. baru tengok new moon (HAHA!) and cirque du freak. honestly i can tell u i enjoyed cirque du freak more. i really wasnt wrong about new moon, although it followed the book to a T, but since its according to the book, it's bleh. haha. i know, complicated.

i've seen a lot of darren shan books on the shelves but everytime i fiddled with it, i put them back, knowing it was for teenage read. but then again, bah! twilight saga is also for teenagers ;)

2. tgh contemplate lagi bila nak p tengok solomon kane and alice in wonderland. i'm gonna pass book of eli (on cinema) since the reviews are not so favourable.

3. of course, i haven't told u guys about my (big) baby's birthday. nothing unusual, but i should've gotten those pix from my sis. the ribs at Big Brother's are HUMONGOUSSS!!! n sooo fleshy n juicy n yummy. keep your eyes peeled on NST because they're making a review of the restaurant. a columnist was there the night we were dining (a frequent visitor, according to hadi, the owner) n if u ever see the review, that's our ribs on the pic! :D

NASIK LEMAK KERETA MERAH.

dulu masa awal2 kami berkenalan, meriah woo.. ada ikan bilis, ikan kering, telur rebus DAN telur goreng, kacang and sambal sotong. and some more sambal kosong. see see, meriah gila i tell u. and the best thing was, harga enam kupang saja.

masa kecik, perut pun kecik. makan sebungkus pun kenyang. tapi time pms boleh bedal dua. sebab tak la besar sangat. macam besar penumbuk aku je kuantiti nasik nye. tapi ok ah, banyak lah tu. nama pun breakfast. ko nak mentekedarah banyak mana sangat. dua bungkus tu kalau agak2 mangkit lewat pastu makan dekat2 time lunch boleh la sekali go. tapi jgn la pi bedal nasik pulak makan tengahari tu.

tu harga circa 1990-ish, seingat aku.

fast forward 15 years later, bisnes nasik lemak ni dah diambil alih oleh generasi anak. abah aku lah cakap, sebab dia tukang beli kehkeh.. tapi masih ada. rupa still sama, packing dlm plastic sheet n newspaper, saiz sama, rasa sambal pun sama. gila kagum pakai senduk sama 15 tahun ka hapa aku tak tau la, sampai tak ubah langsung. tabik ah dengan consistency rasa dia.

the only difference is no more sambal sotong (aku memang slalu donate kat adik aku anyway time ada), and harga naik dua kupang, jadi lapan kupang. dah recession dua kali harga naik dua kupang only.

abah memang la pelanggan setia kereta merah tu. asal ada saja mesti beli. n mesti tak kurang 10 bungkus. dan aku la pemakan setia. tak penah tolak, dan kalau lama tak balik, siap mintak lebih. adik aku sampai tak lalu tengok, kalau ada nasi lemak tu dia tak makan breakfast.

takpa la perut aku kan ada. boleh isi extra.

another long lonnng silence. i think if i track the waves of my blogging frequency i can telly it with my emo waves hahaha

oh well. nothing new anyway. apart from minor accidents (knowing clutzy me), hari MC bersama hubby after a day of kenduri (serius ok, asyik bergilir 2-2 org pegi toilet), and emergency balik kampung to sungai petani, everything is just dandy.

and somewhat the same.

only thing is, i do notice bla balik sp je baru sibuk nak makan nasik lemak. in fact hari2 breakfast nasik lemak pun takpe. kalau kat kota damansara takde sibuk pun. siap refrain lagi, walaupun nasi lemak antarabangsa tu dah ada kat dataran sunway.

and satu lagi, sibuk cari goreng pisang.

maybe sebab:

a) nasik lemak kereta merah (thats what we call it) kat sp tu mmg sedap? (sebab dok ulang beli dah lebih 15 tahun sampai adik tak lalu tengok - tapi aku bedal je dua bungkus)
b) nasik lemak tu ada ganja? (macam kas2 kat kedai mamak letak)
c) nasik lemak kat kl memang tak sedap mana?
d) nasik lemak kat sp murah? (mana nak dapat sebungkus lapan kupang wei???)
e) aku saja gatal, sebenarnya rindu kampung? (BINGO!)

tapi memang serius, my family dah makan nasik lemak tu i think since i was in form 1. and i'm never bored of it.

there's something bursting to be said from me, n its been in my mind for a few days. but its too personal, too personal.

after more than three weeks of use, let me tell u a product that i'm sure i'm not gonna buy anymore:

CLINIQUE'S TURNAROUND INSTANT FACIAL

the texture of this masque cum scrub is indeed nice, very fine grains which doesnt tug at your skin. it has this distant mint smell, but i'm not opposed to perfumed products per say. it does feel nice while it sits on my face, but a little messy when i had to pat on some water to exfoliate after 5 minutes of mask. i never minded the messiness though, i think i had something similar like this a few years back, TBS bluecorn husk mask&scrub.

while it doesnt make me break out or anything, it doesnt do anything either. i mean, you know, nothing to shout about. i know, i know, if u can see the difference in two applications on your face, there IS something VERY strong in that face product n it shouldnt be good for you, but this, i'm not feeling it, u know what i mean?

n to pay RM190 for a tube of 75ml mask just doesnt make sense! i dont know what was i thinking at that time, i guess my curiousity got the better of me :D

now. there's another Clinique's Total Turnaround product that i won't mind spending on. but thats on another post lah.

am making lunch and some spaghetti sauce to bring over my BIL's house. we'll be bunking at their place tonight! later :)

since my last post about body scrubs, i successfully made scrub that will last me a few times of usage. n since its homemade and all, i dont feel icky putting it into the fridge with other foodstuff. win-win! yeay!

i did the 'olive you,honey! scrub', minus honey (since my stock tinggal a few tbsp utk health consumption) oh boy did it smell heavenly! from what i read that scrub can also be used as scalp exfoliant, and also face scrub! double yeay!

please pardon the fuzziness, namanya dok dalam peti sejuk hehehe

the only thing is, if u cant stand oiliness i dont think this is for you. or if you have any issues with cinnamon (i read somewhere some people couldnt stand the stinging sensation cinnamon might give, especially on luka or jerawat) please avoid this as well. but i'm ok with it so i'm good. my only gripe is that it made my skin sooo bloody smooth the wax strips don't want to stick on my legs for my waxing session hahahaha

but i tell u, after ~~quite a long~~ shower, my skin is soooo smooth i couldnt stop touching myself! put on Daisy body butter on top, a touch of lip stain on your lips n cheeks and you're ready for a beautiful day!

How to get that smooth, scale-free skin.

now i'm still hunting, for a good body scrub that doesnt dry your skin. ones that i tried were either too drying or has not as much of the grainy bits as i like. a loofah or sponge just dont cut it. not enough ok. but no, i don't have OCD, or else i (and the whole house) will be sqeeeeaky clean.

cakap pasal tonyoh2 ni, semalam punya la beriya tonyoh kaki dgn pumice block, sental punya sental, tersental ibu jari (tangan) sendiri.

hambik ko. pastu melolong bila jari tu terkena sambal ayam penyet.

Honey Almond Scrub

2 Tbsp almond
2 tsp milk
1/2 tsp flour
1/2 tsp honey

Applelicious Scrub Recipe

1 apple, pureed
2 tbs. dark brown sugar

1 tbs Olive oil

"Olive you, honey!" body scrub (from bellasugar.com)

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
4 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. cinnamon

sounds delish, aint it? some of you artsy people might even make them as a DIY gift! oh wow! seronok nya kalau dapat! (bukannya nak buat sendiri. heh)

was on a wayang date last night. colleagues kat office terkejut tengok me in baju kurung, then in blouse n jeans the next minute. i guess i got some people a bit jealous that hubby n i are able to do that whenever we want to. but of course when there are just the two of you, nothing's a boundary ey?

had a full line of meals, first stop ayam penyet (which left my behind in a hissy fit the next morning), tutti frutti for desert, then join hariz's colleague for carl's jr. oh, i just had their milkshake, nothing much (!!!).

that was BEFORE wayang.

watched legion, thank god i brought along a quite sheer pashmina. hariz's palm would cover my face entirely, so i wouldn't be able watch the movie at all. see, i admit, aku ni penakut, maka selalu sembunyi belakang tangan dia. but then legion was kind of interesting, hiding behind pashmina was good enough.

it about God being mad with human, and releasing a troop of angels to exterminate them. only thing is, the one instructed to kill the baby that would save mankind, Michael, defy the instruction given to him, and he's helping the humans instead.

a fair part of the movie was interesting, n a little gory (Michael sewed his own back after he cut off his wings, goodness sake!) n other scenes as well, granny who eats raw steak and climb the ceiling of a diner etc. but almost at the end, at the back of my mind i was thinking,

'hey, this is like another version of TERMINATOR (cue background music: dudum dum dudum!)'

well, except that the terminator is in the form of Gabriel.

am heading back home tonight with my sis. good news is i get to snip some hair, not so good news is i dont get to cut as much as i want, bad news is i dont get to go get my own haircut!

got home and found that nabilah had cut fatin's hair short (which was what I intended to do the last time i got back!). so instead, i just need to trim things in place properly for fatin, and trim both shuhada's and nabilah's hair and bangs.

me? i dont trust my hair (or my skin for that matter) under their hands hahahahaha
(cue evil sister laugh)

nah... they know better.

my hair's more manageable now, thanks to loreal elseve smooth intense conditioner. look mum, no more tangles!

so thick n yet so easy to rinse, its a saviour for my health-gone-down-the-drain hair. tangles have been a big problem with me, duly noticed by any hairdresser i went to. the one salon that i really like was in plaza masalam in shah alam, where they have a separate room for the hijabis, n what else they use but loreal products! i've yet to try the mask, since there's other more, ehemm, pressing matters that need to be addressed.

i'd love to post a pic of my hair (ends) here, but.. mm.. ada hati yang perlu dijaga, n i'm not even sure if there's any guys (or anybody else for that matter) reading my posts. but hey, i'm not affiliated with any beauty product companies ya, juz to clear that up.

enough entry stress. i've yet to tell you guys how i felt about 3 movies i juz watched.

ingluorious basterds, bleurrrgghh. that quite sums it all. haha.

i mean, geli ok, scalping people's heads. i get the conspiracy theory and all, but still bashing people's head with baseball bat, and scalping the heads? **shudders**

night at the museum 2 was a good watch. very entertaining. i wonder the Kahmunrah's character tu mmg saja2 buat ada lisp ke memang actor dia lidah pendek? i dont think he has any (from what i watch btw, run fat boy run was a good one too!). i agree to a lot of other reviews, this sequel is actually better than the first.

tadi baru tengok push. cerita ada dalam rumah dah a few months baru nak tengok. surprisingly good, i should say. dakota fanning will grow to be a gazilliondollar-churning actress. i mean, she already has, and she's just, what, 15? this movie is in the same genre as wanted, and jumper, about people who has special powers kind of thing, n i must say, push topped the list.

on a serious note,

me being busy ada kena mengena jugak dengan health scenario in malaysia. pesanan penaja, please keep your hand sanitizers and tissues with you all the time if you're coughing or having flu, and jangan pegang apa2 merata2 in public places. jangan dok pegang2 sangat escalator belt tu, ntah sapa pegang sebelum tu ko tak tau. keep your bare hands to yourself ok!

if your feel feverish (especially if 39degrees and above), flu-like symptoms, having body aches, sore throats, and headaches, please see the doctor immediately.

word of the wise, if your going to the hospital/clinic, please keep the entourage to a minimum to avoid getting infection. this little act can save your lives, your families', and help curb the contagious disease.

the christmas sale had made me crazy on make up spree, i'm almost glad its over. but hey, CNY sale has started!! when its gonna end (n let me please please pleaseee keep some money on me)????!!!

let me review another thing that i snagged online during the last sale.

CLARINS LIP COLOUR TINT in #18- Candy Pink

first off, if you're not a fan of scented cosmetics, this is definitely not for you. but i never minded. the raspberry smell is quite refreshing, i might add. its like dipping into icecream, yummo! its a semitransparent lipcolour that glides smoothly on your lips with a creamy sheen. and the slim tube is quite heavy for its size, not some plain plastic.

at USD20 (about RM78) a pop, i'm not sure if i'm gonna get some other colours of this if its not on sale (i got it for a total steal (a warehouse sale price in Malaysia), RM29!!). the fact is, i don't know if i ever get anything if its not on sale. call me cheap but i really love good bargains!

PARENTAL GUIDE FOR DORIAN GRAY.

now that i've watched it, i know dorian gray will never make it to malaysia's cinema.

why?

because there'll be soooooooooo many scenes that will be cut until there's no more movie.

its a dark piece, this movie. reminds me of sweeney todd, but none of the musical stuff. it potrays young dorian gray who arrived in london, very naive, n ended abusing his physical self, well, because nothing will happen since its gonna be transferred to the painting. n the painting was as ugly as what u can imagine, with maggots crawling out of the face. eurgghh. add up a few killing scenes, n that quite sums it up nicely. but the thing is, scenes about him abusing himself also included having sex with different partners, in orgies, women in brothels, a girl who just came of age, then her mother(??!!), ANNNNDDD..

the man who painted him.

gross. i know. now came me being prejudice. all sorts of questions came into mind. why do they have to put this scene in? is this scene (man with man thing) originally written in the book by oscar wilde, who, by the way, was gay?

conclusion: must read the book. to get the truth i mean, not for the saucy parts laaaahhh. but i don't know how on earth can i get my hands on it, since the original was published in 1890, as the only book published by oscar wilde (others were all short stories).

edited: there's (should be!!!) penguin classics version of this!! how can i forget about it! but of course, i'd expect there's nothing raunchy ;)

Was glancing through my blog layout when i saw the ticker. Eeeeepps!!! This year 3 years already meh? Gilaaaa!!!

oh yeah, we attempted to watch the traveller's wife over the last weekend, but to no avail. i dunno, but its really not my cup of tea. we could concentrate, like, for the first 45 minutes i guess? after that hariz slipped into dreamland, n me, happy to find the pc was left alone (yeay!!!)
started twiddledee-twiddledum in front of it.

n the tv was left to watch hariz sleeping :)

maybe when i'm in a soppier mood, i'll try ~~n drag hariz along~~ to watch it. try again next time, anis!

had partial movie marathon last night. baru nak tengok aliens in the attic dengan cloudy with chances of meatballs. both warranted a few more rounds of rewatching. very entertaining!

avatar versus sherlock holmes

well i know they dont even fall into the same genre, but wth i'll juz say what i thought about both movies.

i watched avatar with no perception whatsoever, except mainly curious to find out why people said its the best movie ever in 2009. after the movie, i still dont get why people are getting fanatical about it.

from my point of view, the movie actually showed the cruelty of man towards other species, and annoyingly it actually resembles cerita penjajah jugak la, which i am not a fan. how can it not, when men pegi pandora nak ambik batu yg berjuta2, dia sanggup banish the aboriginals from their nativeland? this movie sebijik mcm cerita banduan inggeris yang asal2 sekali that was sent to american land and banish the native americans from their own settlements, their own soil. its a very disturbing topic for me.

nasib baik la the natives eventually triumph in the movie (unlike native americans), kalau tak, lagi tak puas hati.

special effects i admit, mmg cantik, n i appreciate that. the forest was very surreal, like a beautiful dream. it was so vivid its almost possible to have existed, the fluorescence and the way the trees swayed and the ferns light up. reminds me of deep sea creatures and corals. i suspected thats where james cameron got his inspiration anyway.

comel kan?

now. sherlock holmes, is soo my interest. i mean, i watch and read investigative sort of stories a lot. like A LOT a lot. i love all the gore and the messiness of crime/mystery solving. and having my iron-man as sherlock helps push things along nicely. what surprised me is how suave jude law looked in this movie, tempang and all. maybe the moustache did it hahaha

solving paranormal crimes with scientific evidences is so very like the sherlock holmes stories i read back then, n i'm glad the movie production house sticks to that plot. but although the movie potrays holmes as a very shaggy, unkempt fella, unlike holmes stories, i rather like it since it fits the movie well. satu je scene macam tak berapa real, when the slaughterhouse tgh meletup-letup bagai nak gila and watson adalah ter paling close to the starting point of explosion, i'm surprised he's still intact. i mean, oi, lose an ear la already. ni luka-luka je?? come onnn..

this movie showed the age on robert downey jr. i mean i was like, wow, berapa banyak airbrush they did in ironman? but the bowler hat looked good on him :D

come to think of it, my scepticism towards avatar probably stemmed from me not getting the space fantasy hype. i mean, i'm not a star wars fan, n i didnt get why people kata pandorum best (sebab aku tengok mengantuk2). i do like fantasy type stories, but only if they remain on earth. kalau underwater ke laut macam mana pun aku buleh terima, hell i love harry potter for god's sake. bila dah ke awan, ke planet lain, tu agak melampau. bagi aku lah :)

i suspected both movies will have their sequels (avatar tu aku agak2 macam jurassic park ah), n i'll patiently wait for their releases.for now i'll juz be content on wanting to watch ironman 2 and alice in wonderland.

i wonder, dorian gray masuk malaysia tak? i'm curious how they put it into movie, not to mention the dorian gray ialah prince caspian (and as young dunstan in stardust) actor tuh, ben barnes. yummo!

its friday babes!

had a very slow start today, bangun pagi dah bengang, sebab tak tau nak stop phone alarm. bongoks. tu lah, takde manual semua kena korek sendiri (macam la kalau ada manual tu ko baca anis oi). seb baik last2 tau cne.

hai... buta teknologi sungguh.

havent had the heart to discard my old love yet. sayang laaa, walaupun hp tu dah rosak. i think its juz the battery, but still. (saja alasan nak beli baru).

we're back in KD, barang2 tak kemas balik lagi. apa la nasib perantau kitorang ni. tgh bercinta dua org ni boleh laaa.. aritu berangan nak dapat kembar (we both have immediate cousins who are twins, n cousins who beranakkan twins) supaya terus buleh tutup kedai, diorg dah buleh kawan dua org. best kan? kalau sorg aku jenuh kena pk nak dapat lagi satu, nak dapat sorg pun tak dapat2 lagi.

tapi... mak cakap `takpala.. takdak rezeki lagi. satgi dia mai banyak, hang tak laghat nak tepih'. (which was soo like her, aku dgn adik no1 selang 4 tahun, tapi lepas tu dan-dan setahun satu). mcm ckp utk diri sendiri kan?

oh, i was around at work yesterday already. ingat nak put another post last night but seing desktop on a 47" adalah terlalu besar gila babi, not to mention takde privacy.

we're in subang right now, not at home, which explains the humongousness of the tele. bila hariz dah bercita2 nak ada TV sebesar dinding living room, i juz had to put my foot down. the main thing is, memang la i'm shortsighted (kok ye pun nak perli hahahha), buuuutttt.. the living room is not panjang u see, i dont have go far to get to the other side of the wall. so its gonna be like watching wayang with u sitting at the front row.

ok. enough intro mengarut.

i'm happy to report that my stila bargain purchase was such a hit its becoming my staple for day to day look. the eyeshadows are marvellous! no wonder most of the beauty blogs i read gave good reviews on stila eyeshadows. satu swatch on my fingertips dah cukup for a vivid eye colour, the colour payoff is THAT good.

i'm still considering jumping brand for my skincare, now that i'm bored with garnier (i.e. only halfway through the tub!!!). philosophy's Hope In A Jar is on top of the TO TRY list now, though i might have to buy it only online. but i might revert back to bobbi brown face base, which was wonderful while it lasted with me. hati kata jangan jangan JANGAN try clarins, knowing it'll burn a huge hole in my pocket. practical me said to give the whole clinique range a go, since its like only RM1 / ML for basic mosturizer. but the more practical me said if i want to be a real cheapo, why not juz use olay instead since its done wonders to my mother (n i can end up dapat kulit gebu macam dia)?

never tried this, maka sangat teringin, termasuk lah its purity made simple cleanser

penah pakai, dan sangat suka, nak patah balik tak?online diagnosis said i should use this instead if i am to be a clarins user

again, watching (literally on the tv) 2009 went by ~~sambil mesej2 panas kenapa bajet farmasi selangor kena slash~~. heard the fireworks but wasnt too bothered. yelah, dok tepi bukit la katakan. dekat tapi jauh je dengan the curve tu. kalau aku p tak pasal2 jangkit org hahaaha

apart from the sayup2 bunga api, no shouts or countdown heard around my neighbourhood... aahhh tenang... mcm dok kat kampung. masa christmas ada pulak countdown ~~and org mabuk berparti~~. agak nya senyap sebab org semua pegi the curve.

hnnssshh. rindu nak kuar rumah. rindu nak p OU. rindu nak p layan nephew2 hariz, si kecik fawwaz pipi tembam yg aku suka gigit2. ntah aku dah boleh kuar umah belum. org tua2 ckp time tgh mengering ni la dia cari rumah baru. but how kering is kering?

spent time browsing spring make up collection for 2010, n this anna sui's version of spring is sooo not inviting. luckily its not replacing the permanent ones. i always loved the texture, packaging and smell of anna sui's make up. my anna sui lippie tgh last lap dah, kena beli baru???!!!

i am rereading harry potter (again). that shows how sangap i am kat rumah.

i've lost count how many times i've reread them, but enough to note the inconsistencies in the story. for example, the first book said james and lily potter were head boy and girl in their school days, and yet the third book said james potter was a troublemaker, and in the fifth book, sirius confirmed that he was never even a prefect.

dont get me started on other, more trivial differences.

and yet, here i am, still rereading them (in the middle of the third book by the way).

i am getting better now. i dont wake up in the middle of the night anymore, juz in time to prevent myself scratching my neck, eventhough i was on antihistamine (which is supposed to help you sleep). heck, i dont depend on the antihistamines for the itchiness anymore. yeay!

yep. for those who hasnt known, i'm officially a very old kid yesterday. dapat chicken pox you! hahahaha

i've had a chilly episode on tuesday, which led to me getting mc on wednesday. since then my temperature had gone up and down with paracetamol ingestion. dr pointed out that it was viral, that i had to do blood test if the fever didnt break by the third day.

well on the third day was my lucky day. spotted a blister! but i thought it was juz a normal blister, sbb tgh poke blisters on my feet hasil pakai heels baru ke ofis.

so here i am now, stuck at home being a queen bee, faithfully ingesting acyclovir to prevent the worst (especially on my face!!!)

the worst is, hariz juz came back after buying 4 Avatar 3D tickets for us when i showed him the spots yesterday. terpaksa la lelong tiket tu. seb baik my 2nd cuz nak beli, kalo tak melayang duit.

i really need to get my priorities sorted. dah tinggal last lap dah ni, tinggal 9 hari dah nak 2010. n we are already 4 days into 1431H. ada resolusi baru?

knowing me, n knowing u know me, i dont really have a resolute resolution. sangat suka just to go with the flow. what will be, will be. what goes around comes around. well u get my drift. kekadang memang, rasa macam daun berguguran, kalau jatuh atas tanah pun takde impact to anyone. i think not being content with my work (ie pharmacy) has got a lot to do with it.

a few things i hope to make things better next year:

1) lose weight!! (since when this is not a resolution every bloody year?) my weight really yo-yoed this year, n its really noticeable especially to those who are close to me. let me see, what i had tried:

+ Herbalife - (oh no that doesnt count because its last year)

+ Premium Beautiful - wore it for only two weeks religiously, then on off for two months. lost 7cm on my butt and 9 cm on my waist. been like that until now eventhough i havent worn it for more than 1 month. good no? tapi tak larat nak pakai pagi2. bila bangun je i was like, damn i have to wear that bloody pants. its so not good for my temper (am not a morning person). never minded wearing the bra and corset though. apakah nasib, bumper power sangat(??!!!)

+ Master Cleanse diet - havent tried anything this extreme before, but i was desperate to detox myself. Sila google untuk maklumat lanjut. Oh, btw, i only lasted two (bloody) days. but dua hari pun, ppl kat ofis noticed my face mcm kecik sikit n looked better. tak rasa lapar pun actually, tapi i crave teruk sgt on the second day sampai nangis mintak hariz belikan nasi ayam yang kedainya dah setahun kitorg tak pegi. gila kan, tetiba teringat.

skali skala buleh buat lagi satu ke dua hari. sedap!

ada satu lagi. baru beli ni ha. tgk la, bila dah selesai n ada hasil, i'll write it down here.

owhh dear.... malas nyaaaaa!!!

thanks partly to my sis, my hubba hubba, annnddddd my lipstick fitflop, i'm aching all over after a whole day of shopping. dah lama tak shopping, ni la jadinya. we were there before 11, and went back home well after 5. juz shop n makan, no wayang whatsoever! selalunya kalo one whole day tu mesti sebab tengok wayang la, kalau tak, not so long.

me and my sis have our own shopping list(!!) so we hit the stores soon after we parked. mad women, we were. kejap ke sana, kejap ke sini. hariz pun ngekor je (shopping list dia aku yang buat, duh). come to think of it, all we did was buy our essentials, nothing luxe, but still!!

we managed to grab a pair of ivory pumps for me, white(??!!) working shoes for hariz. working apparels for hariz. since dia dah boring terlalu ramai org pakai striped shirts to work (dulu masa awal2 trend tu keluar dia sorg je pakai ke hospital), he's back to plain shirts, and now has a thing for (gasp!!) checkered pants!

a bag for shuhada, boxes of coloured lenses for me, a few skincare items and accesories for us girls. shuhada punya pasal we surveyed on sunglasses as well, but now aku yang terkenang2kan fossil sunglasses that i saw!!i want, can? hariz kata kalau mimpi kena la pegi 1u balik :D

oh, i found a home for my stila eyeshadows! i'll tell u in another post okies! later!

dah hujan dua kali dah kat umah ni ha.. apa la guna nya hujan kalo dok sorg2 *wink*

watched storm warriors last night. initially i was like, kalo tak new moon maybe ninja assasin (yeap, mmg baru nak tgk bcoz u know i really contemplated whether to watch or not) but then tgk2 both movies screening juz tinggal twice a day n we missed the last one. gila ramai org nak tgk avatar, n a tamil movie tah nama pa tak ingat. 2-2 movie asyik sold out! i was like hmmm... mentang2 la james cameron kan, dunno what the hype is all about though. i mean, if its from the avatar cartoon i can understand. really, i'm not into space fantasy kind of thing. hubbsy's interested to watch though. nnti la, alang2 kena teman hariz tgk, mesti mau tgk 3D kan :)

storm warriors was quite ok actually. maybe a bit slow, since scene dia juz, hmm let me count.... like, 10 scenes saja. but aaron kwok is as gorgeous as ever, i mean, he's the only hongkong movie star that i liked (sbb dia sorg je tanned, if u get my drift). but is it juz me, or mmg simon yam tu selalu berlakon jadi evil warlord?

what i really really cant wait to watch, is sherlock holmes!!!! cepat la sampai... nak tengok!!

its a little too dusty in here, isnt it?

i've been neglecting this space for a while, i know. terasa mcm takde mood jugak.

anyway, i really cant wait for my shopping date this sunday with my lil sis. shuhada is in her fourth year dentistry, n the very tight schedule really stressed her out. what else is more rejuvenating than a shopping spree?

as if this christmas and year end sale havent made enough damage to my pocket.

first off, big bad book clearance.

just a few of my purchases. but my favourite has to be this:

then the online purchases. God knows how much i spent online, but the bargain was soooo irresistable!!

my best purchase so far:

this set was the ultimate bargain!

i got the whole set, i mean the whole, full sized set, for only 65 ringgit! how can i ever resist, when i get the lipglaze and majorlash mascara in the set as well? u have to pay like 85 bucks for the lipglaze alone if its not on sale. n i'm sooo loving it! the tinted mosturizer (50ml) is in shade 1, and is perfect for my colour. the eyeshadows are kitten, wheat, golightly and mystic. nice if u r like me, who likes the natural day look. the convertible lip n cheek is in peony (but its the only small sized one - but still, the size of the eyeshadow pan!) which i feel is flattering on any skinshade. thats why its in this set, all the best buys of stila!

then there's the dresses, fabrics buat baju kurung, the shawls, perfumes, heels, but oh, i juz got a pair of heels that i liked. thats why i cant wait for my shopping date.

i'm soooo not done shopping yet!!!

was back home in SP for a week, hence the lack of posts. a lot has happenened:

1. went back with hubbsy n lil sis friday night. buleh pulak tertido time kemas2 baju and kemas umah. n right in front of the tv, no less. and because of that, gerak dari umah at 2am and arrived in sp at 6am.

2. was momentarily stunned to see my mother sooo thin since the last i saw her. n not in a good way either. rasa nak nangis pagi2 tu nasib baik sempat tahan. i thought her eyes were a little different but i reckoned it was because of her lost of weight and she wasnt in malaysia since march so i havent seen her in like, 7 months.

3. the same day we arrived, mak was persuaded by my sis to see a doctor since her legs bengkak n has what she suspected cellulitis. no, not cellulites. n that wasnt a good sign. dah p clinic, the doctor referred her to the hospital since cellulitis required IV antibiotics. but once at the hospital, everything gone haywire: her BP gone up, her pulse through the roof, which made the ER ppl wheel her in to be warded.

4. tests showed that my mother's thyroid gland has gone into hyperdrive with elevated TSH. that explained the weight lost, high BP, high pulse and protruded eyes. n she already on meds for hypertension to begin with. the dr also diagnosed mak as having diastolic heart failure, which explained the pedal edema (water retention in the legs).

5. we took turns untuk jaga mak for 3 nights. when she was first warded masuk 3rd class, so i went there to check whether she can be transferred since my GL enables her for first class. the problem was, it was saturday and i havent got any letter with me. plus the office was of course closed till monday. when i check with the girl kat pendaftaran, turned out they can print my GL there n then! cool! juz gave my IC number n voila! GL printed. berguna jugak sistem yg gomen ni buat hahaha..

6. but alas, bed kat 1st class pulak penuh. so my mak in four bed room on the fourth floor. mak was really unhappy dgn perangai staffnurse kat hospital tu. being an ex-staffnurse there herself, she noted the lack of involvement of the staffnurses with the patients. poor mak, abis tangan lebam2 sbb HO tak pandai cucuk branula. dah la vein mak susah nak dapat. berapa banyak good vein semua punctured. yg paling pelik, masa specialist buat ward round, there's no staffnurse in sight! usually there must be at least one to assist the drs. masa i went to hand over my GL utk mak transfer wad pun stffnurse tu mcm tak layan. dok sibuk sembang walhal kita dok tercegat depan muka dia. hoh marah betul aku. nak je tonyoh muka dia yg bermekap tebal tu ke meja. staffnurse pakai mekap fullfledge with foundation eyeshadow mascara wasnt heard of during my mum's time ok. they're not allowed to, for various safety reasons.

7. since a lot of her veins punctured, mak had to literally teach one nurse to insert branula for her. even showed them which vein would be better for peripheral line. this one HO even offered mak to pick which needle size she prefers. tapi kesian jugak dgn HO, asyik kena marah dengan specialist depan2 patients and visitors.

8. on the last night baru mak boleh transfer ke 1st class. we were worried because the specialist said nak tahan mak for a week, but luckily on the fourth day dah boleh balik. with lots of meds too. sempat jugak jumpa kak sab kat farmasi, sembang2 sat while waiting for mak's discharge meds.

9. in total, mak has lost 20 kilos since early this year. dia dah buleh pakai baju my sisters, which all three shared the same size! aku je la yang takleh share since kaki tangan semua pendek. grrrr....

so many things passed my mind which made me think, oh, i wanna blog about that, tapi last2 ada dlm kepala je.

1. tak sabar gilaaa nak tunggu sherlock holmes. robert downey jr is soooooo hot!!

2. tgh pk2 should i put new moon in my must-watch list. in my honest opinion, new moon ialah buku yg paling tak best antara 4 buku twilight (walaupun ok la jugak, tp kalo nak compare that 4 kan). but i must say, this twilightbeauty's palette in rosalie is soooooo pretty!!! i want i want!!

dari kecik mmg aku ni tak berapa normal agaknya. mak cakap, dulu masa aku takde adik lagi (ie b4 4 yrs old) mmg asyik telek children's encyclopedia and dictionary. tak payah mak aku suruh aku mmg suka telek (dan koyak) buku. n dalam banyak2 my siblings, aku la yg paling dapat perhatian penuh dari mak untuk learn how to read and count (nama pun anak sulonnnnggg), hence, b4 age 2 i've known how to spell simple words. and, nak tambah tak normal lagi, dah la pi tadika 2 tahun, on top of pegi tadika, i went for night tuition for BM, english and maths when i was 6!

1. went to subang parade while waiting hariz balik keja. bump into a senior colleague who went:

anis ni kalo jumpa je asyik siap bermekap. my impression sllunya mak datin je yg rajin p mekap2 kat counter ni. anis nak jadi datin ke?

2. hubster balik keja sabtu malam dan buat muka terkejut bahawa bini kesayangan dia telah mengemas rumah persis org nak datang melawat. selalu mesti nak tunggu dia buat sama2, katanya. ok fine lain kali i'll wait :D

3. terlupa ada invitation openhouse on sunday. instead, p berdating dengan jayanya berdua. tengok surrogates. ok la, mcm sci-fi lain. tp ending dia membuatkan aku pk, 'huh, dah abis?'
balik umah mengadap pulak taking of pelham 123 sambil makan aunty anne's pretzels and vienna bagels (gila banyak makan!). pun dapat reaksi sama dari aku.

alas, my happiness last night was shortlived.

last night was my first attempt to make puding jagung. yg aku tak tahu menahu ingredient apa nak letak. main bantai saja agak-agak from what i tasted yg sgt sedap during makan-makan time uni.

bila google2 tak la banyak ingredients but it varies la from one recipe to another.n anyway, i couldnt trust the ratio in the recipes given sebab kekadang sesetengah org suka letak tepung kastad dengan banyaknya, which i didnt like. so in the end, aku main letak dan agak2 saja.

ingredients

1 cup tepung custard, larutkan dlm 1 cup air
1 tin 400g susu cair
1 tin corn cream and 1/2 tin corn kernel
3/4 cup gula
1 tsp vanilla essence
garam skitttt saja

rupa sudah agak lawa (i.e., rupa puding laaaaaa, tak la rupa cam hareeeemmm). but in my haste dan cuakness disebabkan gatal pakai periuk nipis, dan letak atas burner besar (nama pun eksperimen) aku rasa aku masak tak cukup lama, sbb ada sedikit rasa tepung, dan apparently terlebih sedikit liquid, maka tak set cantik2.

i know. i'm one impatient woman.

maka, hari ni, breakfast: puding jagung tak siap.

tapiiiiii, taste wise sudah dapat thumbs up from 3 panelists (yg aku jamin perut kebal). hepi!!!

when clinique had a promotion out of womens weekly about them giving away 7-day foundation sample, i couldnt resist getting some for myself as i was conveniently around their counter.

the SA was thorough enough to ask me hows my makeup regime and threw in some tips for my skin as she spotted me having uneven skintone between my Tzone and the rest of my face. her unforgettable saying:

'u should exfoliate more than once a week la sayang. tgk ni, foundation susah nak lekat. kulit dah cantik, tapi kena jaga juga.'

kantoi la pulakkkkk that week tu aku malas nya ya rabbi nak cuci muka pun, apatah lagi pakai exfoliant yg menyebabkan i have to double cleanse.

fyi i'm using ginvera marvel gel to exfoliate, puas ati dpt tgk kulit2 mati tu nmpk atas tangan kan. baru tau betapa byk benda mati atas muka hahaha.. the downside of this product is u have to really clean all the 'debris' yg bergentel2 tu smpai really squeaky clean, or else nnti jerawat naik. so after marvel gel, i have to use scrub to clean them. jadi dua keja la kan?

time2 aku rajin almost every other day buat (it can be used everday) so nampak la muka berseri2 skt, tapi kalo sindrom M melanda habis laaa..

ok so the SA swatched some foundation near my jaw for match and recommended Perfectly Real Foundation in shade 63 (Fresh Beige) as i wanted the sheerest of coverage since i dont really use foundation much.

i used it during raya to see how it fares throughout the day. the verdict?

colour selection: good match!
coverage: ok. if u want it sheer then fine, because it wont cover up freckles taik lalat whatsoever. if not, stay out of this range.
staying power: my blush stayed on well until the evening which i considered a success!
cons: it does have this weird smell that a lot of foundation has, but with clinique somehow the smell is quite prominent. luckily tak kuat sgt and dissipated after a while. another thing it seemed to cake a bit near the base of my nose, and a lot of reviews seem to have the same prob.

since the SA gave quite a bit more than a week's worth of foundation, it'll last quite a while with me. i havent had any foundation since my MAC, so lets see if i havent find anything more interesting than this! :D

pfffttt. all of us know kalo time bulan puasa and raya, mesti kena diarrhea 1-2 round. well, to me at least.

maka, semalam mc setelah asyik berulang kali keluar masuk toilet. plus muntah yang projection nya mcm air paip yg dipasang full blast.

well, no worries ladies. dah ok dah. at least as of now. i'll make sure i'm a whole lot better b4 farina's openhouse. karang kecik hati mek kalo aku tak p, kan kan kan?

no raya pictures to show, since the only ones we had was masa pagi raya. tu pun yang skema ones, u know yg berdiri tegak beramai-ramai sambil senyum ke arah kamera. others, nada. sbb siang malam sibuk melayan org, and in between that, membuta untuk menambah tenaga sebelum org len dtg umah.

we were in trganu for a week, then i head to kedah alone while hariz came home in KD. dont blame him, blame the hospital. gila nakkkk jugak buat stock take time org nak beraya.

my MIL, an avid dodol fan, even asked me to courier some to her. apparently dodol yg dijual panas2 tu susah nak jumpa, she said kat kedah saja dia jumpa, tmpat len takdak. i was like, oooo... no wonder the first time she asked me aku blur-blur, sbb kat sp mmg jual mcm tu, so aku tak paham bila dia tanya mana nak carik dodol yg baru masak panas2.

it was a known fact that my dream of all dreams is to be a housewife yg takde keje lain pegi shopping n spa-menyepa, which is sadly, i know, will forever be a dream.

i mean, gila ke hapa nak quit job (even though i never ever liked it, right from the time i was studying it). i'm still sane, thank you. but still, its all coming fast. extended hours, 24 hour services (which means working in shifts that i really couldnt ...) n this h1n1 thingy still 'sepak'ing my ass every bloody week, makes me long to live my dream.

still, a job is a job however u say it. i really envy those who really enjoy what they do to earn a living, bcoz i simply couldnt.

couldnt sleep a wink last night. beats me if i know why.

actually i do know why. something did keep simmering in my mind, n i juz had to lose myself in books to get it off my head.

well on the bright side i didnt miss teman hariz for sahur this morning.

yeah, i dont usually eat, juz a mug of milo and sometimes kurma / roti / whatever's handy. it didnt start off right, with me sahur with panadol yesterday, but pagi tadi aku makan nasik pulak.

maybe its easier to swallow something spicy when u havent slept beforehand.

iftar semalam and sahur pagi ni menu yang sama. mixed white/brown rice with bawal sweet sour, telur dadar and sayur kangkung. oh, and some cekodok on the side. i cant seem to get it stuck in my head that its not good to mix binatang laut n darat in one meal.

susah la nak pk telur tu binatang. hmm..

hari ni malas masak. nak p intai kat ttdi's bazar apa nak makan for iftar. better be going early to avoid the crowd.

i hate sad endings.

that is precisely why i never finished watching maverick, n tonight, for the first time, baru nak tgk gladiator. but as i watched commodus smothering his father the caesar in his embrace, i think i know, i'll never finish watching it, as with maverick.

nothing, i mean nothing, can make me watch movies with sad endings till the end. especially if the storyline is all sad and soppy. call me a dreamer if u will, but i believe in happy endings.

the same thing goes with public enemy. masa tengok gazette dia teringin sangat nak tgk johnny depp pakai trench coat. but the minute i know he dies in the movie, CANCEL.
