oh bukan the movie. but the BOOK.

to be honest with u i havent watched the movie. janji dgn hariz after dinner semalam nak tengok sama-sama, but after kemas dapur, basuh baju (ceh mcm penat pakai mesin auto) unpack barang dari kedah, n pack pulak barang nak p subang, left me tergolek atas katil before long.


but the BOOK. lambat skit nak review. i've read it last week. ok lah, sedap la jugak. aku mampu abiskan dalam 3 hours cmtu. buku ni pasal a boy named Ram Mohammad Thomas, left in a church when he was a baby. He was raised in the church by a Father, and having the Hindu and Muslim society query-ing about he raising a Hindu / Muslim boy (who knows anyway?) as a Christian, he ended up giving the boy a name of the three religions. every chapter depicts how he managed to answer a certain valued question in W3B.

the book tells his adventure in the slums,
-befriending Salim at the church, whose parents were killed in a mob, n share his passion towards Armaan Ali, a Bollywood actor,
-as a housekeeper to then Bollywood star Neelima Kumari,n how she ended up killing herself,
-'adopted' by Maman, who turned out a gangster who train children to beg for money, n running away from him,
- housekeeping for a contract killer named Ahmad Khan, n ended up substituting a picture of a film director who's grooming Salim to be an actor to that of Maman's for Ahmad to kill.

finally he went to Agra and bacame a tourist guide for Taj Mahal, befriended Shankar, an autistic child to his landlady, and fell in love with Nita, a prostitute.

at the second last chapter of the book i was told of the very reason why Ram/Mohammad/Thomas entered the game show in the first place - he only want to have revenge. the host, Prem Kumar, was Neelima Kumari's lover and had physically abused her and tortured her with cigarette butts and she ended with lots of cigarette burns all over her including her breasts. and then Nita, the prostitute, was hospitalised after meeting a client. when he saw that same burn marks on Nita's breasts, he knew it was the same person who did that to his Nita.

i cant compare with the movie, sbb as i said, i havent watched. nanti dah tgk aku bagitau. but from what i Wiki-ed, the book is somewhat different from the movie. bukan somewhat lagi dah, sangat jugak lah. nak tengok!

hariz dah pack dvd skali dlm barang, malam ni buleh tgk movie di subang! yeay!

update:

movie dia, ok, wow. sgt different lah. btl lah peon, simplified oredi. ada satu je soalan yg sama dgn buku, n the flashback matched. yg lain, semua lain ok. xde amitabh bachchan, xde soalan cricket, three musketeers lagi la xde.

i can appreciate both versions. mcm nasik lemak dan nasik goreng. dua2 nasik. tapi dua2 sodap jo :D

aku pun dgn penuh bersemangat nak buat lah jugak. birthday hariz was up n coming (then - yesterday lah he turned 27). so, semlm lps subuh aku pun membanting tulang kat dapur. mak masak x habis2, aku dok bertanya x habis2. nak buat kek coklat lembap la katakan, buat keja pun ala2 lembap jugak lah.

jgn risau. kek turned out ok. enak lah dimakan begitu sahaja. tp aku bab2 topping ni xtau kenapa sllu saaannggaaattt lah susah nya. bukan x penah buat. ok je. resepi sama je.

dunno what went wrong, but the topping turned chewy! series gila korg buleh gelakkan aku. mak aku siap tinggal chop jari dia atas kek.

mak ckp: ha elok la tu, tinggal kat atas meja topping tu x la cair meleleh2.

meleleh apa. bila dah potong tu, dia buleh congeal balik ok. gila terer.

solution: letak pinggan atas kek. angkat semula pinggan tersebut, topping akan ikut bersama. voila! kek sedia dimakan tanpa topping.

DISASTER!

tapi series, kek resepi mak sedap. eheh.

juz back from a meeting dgn company. i'm juz glad my pengarah's ok with presentation yg aku prepare, n paling lega sekali my side is not the receiving end of her wrath. amat kesian dgn org yg kena marah dgn dia. mmg patut kena marah pun org2 itu, tp aku yg x kena ni pun kesian. well u urself wont want to be called a bunch of incompetent jerks to ur face of course. ngeri ok.

cctv in hostels? sure ah?

I heard about something of this topic over the radio on my way to work this morning, n this is what I found online:

PUTRAJAYA: Closed-circuit television cameras can help reduce bullying incidents in schools.

Unfortunately, not all schools can afford to have the devices installed in their premises, Education director-general Datuk Alimuddin Mohd Dom said yesterday.

"Of course, schools can have the CCTVs, but they have to buy it using the money collected through the parent-teacher association.

"At present, we don't have plans to purchase CCTVs as our emphasis is more on holistic approaches for the sound education of our children.

"But if schools can afford it, why not? I think CCTVs can help in so many ways. If they are installed in the school hostels, I am sure bullying incidents can be reduced."

He was commenting on an incident at a secondary school in Dalat, Mukah, a coastal town in central Sarawak, where a Form Five student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Oya had lodged a report on Feb 23 claiming that 10 Sixth Formers had assaulted him at the school's boarding house.

A recording of the three-minute incident had been uploaded on YouTube and was titled "SMK Oya-style wrestling".

Police have sent the investigation papers to the Attorney-General's Chambers.

Alimuddin will be going to the school this week after receiving a complete report from its headmaster and the state education director.

Ok. Wow. What happened already?

Aku dok 5 tahun kat hostel skolah xde pe pun… I mean, seriously. R u sure nak pasang cctv ni? Ok fine, pro…bably ada some pros behind this measure. Kut2 ada drug addict curi2 masuk hostel curi barang ke (xpyh ada kawad pencerobohan cam kat ssp dulu) kes2 org minyak ke, nak teropong ayam sapa sebenarnya yg bertelur kat atas katil syu/seri/ntah tak ingat sapa budak delima tu, something to that effect, I think can lah.

But as spycam for students? Come on, kalo mende cni pasang kat girls school, silap2 org yg monitor cctv tu buat duit jual video budak pompuan p toilet/mandi/tido. Silap2 ada kes Elizabeth Wong lagi.

Xtau la budak laki kan, if they bully sampai koma budak tu kes2 terpencil la, tp kalo girls’ school, setakat merangkak bawah katil yg berabuk xhengat sambil pakai tshirt putih dan menyanyi, tiup kipas siling sampai bergerak, tiru bunyi ayam alarm clock depan satu kelas senior, juz utk nak dapat senior’s signatures is sooo biasa. N 1^st year kalo mandi pukul 4.30pagi hari2 pun adalah sesuatu yg normal.

Anyway, kejap je mende2 tuh. 1^st year je. Silap2 2-3 bulan je nak kena kacau pun.

Tapi boys school I dunno to what extent is normal lah, tonyoh muka masuk toilet bowl tu agak kerap aku dgr. Yg tu mcm kesian.

Ikut pandai la labu, juz kalo they install those cctvs in girls’ schools, aku rasa aku hantar my girls (eceh berangan anak pompuan byk) to daily school je.
