blasted warehouses..

went for a rare girls' day out last saturday with a couple of ol' schoolmates, to warehouse sales... tp huuuuhhh... penat je bgn awal (for a saturday)... the organizers mcm xtau organize lgsg... hampeeessss...

it was a one day event, started at 10 am... by the time we arrived (roughly 8.45) there's already a long queue.. granted la mmg we kinda expected it because its for only one day n renowned brands involved... but then, ppl yg usher tu punnnn... rearrange queue smpai 3 kali btpe... skjp q cmni, pastu q cmtu plk... last2 brader yg q kt blkg kitorg tetibe je dah siap beli brg n kuar dari hall tuh.. yg kitorg nih dok q pjg lagi n xdpt masuk hall lg pun... ayyyammm btl...

fed up & lapar (sorg mabok, sorg lagi nk pitam), we surrendered our q spot to the neverending crowd.. quote: 'q pjg smpai timbaktu dah'... and headed to another shopping spot... not a one-day warehouse sale but a warehouse.. ;) went to MO in pandan jaya.. although x beli pape but will definitely come back... byk beaded farah khan dresses yg cntik!! throw a french lace kebaya top onto the dress n voila! pakai untuk nikah or wedding reception sgt cantik (not for me ok... dah lps my time)... it'll certainly put a lil' dent in ur wallet tp xla burn right thru like if u tempah semua... n byk pucci purses n tods n furla bags n cole haan n baaaannnnyyyaaaaakkk lagi...

finally, last stop... klcc.. havent been there like, berzaman oredi ok... i remembered what kind of crowd usually there during weekends so i kinda avoided it.. but anyways... bought a topman shirt for cik abg.. had lunch (twice, hahaha).. then bought a lil' sumthing sumthing very cute for me.. n last but not least, the beauty product for the month, a pot of mac blusher to replenish/replace my bobbi brown.. i like!!


since kuar dari awal pagi, by 3 dah mengantuk (hahaha... kena build up stamina lg nih nk soping..) so we head back home with our purchases.. tell u what, dah lps kawen nk dkt sethn (owh really rasa baru mcm sebulan kawen... ahaks!!) ni i really appreciate going out with GFs more than ever.. thanks babes! :)

b4 i forget

i know i should've written my meatball recipe somewhere... so b4 i totally forgot what i put in:

Cheezy Meatballs


1 cup minced meat
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
cheddar cheese - cut into small cubes
1 medium sized onion- finely chopped
1/2 heaping tsp dried mixed herbs
1 tsp oyster sauce
salt n coarse black pepper
an egg- beaten

combine all in a bowl except egg and cheese.. knead until well mixed..

add egg bit by bit.. u might not use all of ur egg.. add enough egg juz until well combined and the dough don't stick to the bowl..

take a pinch of the dough, flatten it, add a cube of cheese and gentel to make the meatballs.

makes about 10+ small meatballs.. depending on how big ur pinch is.. ;)

these can be baked in oven about 10-12 mins, but don't forget to check once in a while and turn them.. can also be fried on nonstick frying pan (covered) with a tsp of oil for about 10-12 mins as well..

hmmm... the more i cook, the more that i cant remember what i put into the dish.. so definitely will post more recipes after this... hehehe...go go chayo!

sunny sunday..

err.. not exactly sunny as in the weather (it rained in the afternoon) .. but rather my mood was... which is actually hard to maintain for a cancer (zodiac, not disease) woman (read: normal - mood changes at least 4 times a day) so i felt really good about that..

fried some keropok lekor for breakfast.. fettucini carbonara with meatballs for lunch (homemade ok.. for my cik abg la... i juz ate a tablespoonful of fettucini with more meatballs on the side) then, we head out to send my sis back to shah alam...

on the way back, we stop by the curve to windowshop... ate apple cinnamon cupcake kat cupcake chic.. sedap la! although dia physically x secantik wondermilk cuppacakes in uptown (yg tu pun sedap jugak!), it still appeals to me.. with apple slices some more.. yumyum! tp 1 pc je ok... karang sugar overload plk.. hehehe.. boleh pegi lagi... yeay!!

although janji nk windowshop, i ended buying a dress for me to wear at home... hehehe.. the funny thing was, this one nyah salesperson asked me as he/she was folding the dress i bought:

nyah: kakak (rupa mcm tua kah aku ni???!!) pakai ni kat umah buat tido ke kuar jalan?
me: pakai kat umah je.. :)
nyah: oohhh.. kain ni sejuk... sedap pakai.. (mcm cover2 line gitu muka dia)

i was like... hmmm... salah ke kalo pompuan pakai tudung beli sleeveless dress? i can always throw on a bolero or half cardi on top of it and wear with pants kalo nk pakai kat luar.. well at least i show an example to him/her that if ur a guy (not gay) guy, u won't end up with a t-shirt n batik clad malay girl anymore nowadays.. ;)

yesterday i was given a last minute assignment.. to present slides for pengarah negeri baru, today morning..!!!!! totally freaked me out because that quality assurance indicator achievements statistics bkn bidang kuasa aku... gabra siot... mual2 pening nk muntah bla dgr aku kena present... mana sempat???????!!!!!! slide org lain one thing, not my field is another... granted la the slide maker tuh tgh mc... tp notice utk meeting dah lama, slide xsiap pun... sape yg kene? aku jugak......

(abg jgn risau, i love u soooo much more... and he's in the box, married n so unreachable... hehehe) xpercaya? watch this:

new recipe! yeay!

as my hormones have gone haywire since last january after the unfortunate incident, my cik abang was nagging me on n on to eat avocados to help stabilise them... finally last friday i found some at the cold storage n brought them home.. here's what i did with my avocados..

AVOCADO DIP


1 avocado
1 small tub of Bulla light sour cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
a sprinkle of dried mixed herb
a dash of pepper
cili padi (adjust according to preference)

blend avocado with sour cream and cili padi, add the seasonings, mix them all together.. and voila! a nice dip for raw veges like carrots and cucumbers (or in my case, i use it as dip for cucur ikan bilis... hahahaha!)

MANGO AND AVOCADO SALAD


1 small sized onion, diced
1 clove of garlic, minced
2 medium sized tomatoes
1 ripe mango
1 avocado
1 sprig (?) of cilantro, finely chopped
1 lime, squeezed
cajun spice, salt, sugar and pepper

cube tomatoes, mango and avocado then mix with onion, garlic and cilantro. season with some salt and pepper, add a bit of sugar, lime juice and cajun spice (or alternatively u can use cayenne pepper or chilli flakes also can do - i used cajun spice because thats what i had in the kitchen) mix well. the salad tasted better when i let it sit in the fridge for some time, so, feel free to experiment! sori la ye.. x amik pix sbb sibuk makan.. ;)

bosan weihhh...

yaaaa... sgt lah bosannye... i thot i was ready for the impending boredomness to dawn upon me when i took up the job...but sadly, no... i'm not... i know i was risking a few years of complete boredom after switching from hospital setting to juz administrating... i thot i was really bored then, when i was interning in hospital.. n nothing could be more boring than that... now i'm facing something even worse! but then again, there's a dear friend who always remembered.. during my diploma days, i've juz arrived for a class n already said i'm bored almost everyday! :D

Luckily my job allows me to go whenever n wherever we organise courses, which is quite often in a year.. n sometimes when i have the chance n time, i go dispensing at one of the government clinics.. that kind of retains my sanity in a way.. n i have someone to lean on (literally) n share my life with... since we travel quite far to work, all i wanted to do is laze around, curling up on the sofa reading a novel while he's on the pc during the weekends.. bila dah sampai umah tu jadi malaaaasss sgt nk kuar blk... wayang pun lama jgk x tgk... huhuhu... tp once in a while p shopping2 mcm kene let loose dari kandang la... hahahaha... i was like, owh goodie! mac n la senza nk bkk outlet di pyramid! yeay! then go buy a few pairs of sandals in a go kind of thing..

anyways, taking pasta a lot has taken its toll on me... n my dear cik abg as well.. smpai kene beli new clothes je.. (alasan..) tp mmg ah... x muat ken... aaaaahhhh!!! gonna get some help on this... but does that mean i have to sacrifice my love for food? i sure hope not!
